Cisco AP disappears from the WLAN Controller

 

Situation: The client tries to add Cisco AP to their new Cisco WLAN Controller 2504. The AP keeps disappearing from the WLC. Whenever you rebooting the AP, it shows on the WLC, but after a few minutes, it disappears.

 

Troubleshooting: We found the problem is the port configuration on the Cisco switch.

This is the configuration cause the problem.

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport trunk native vlan 600

switchport mode trunk

This is the correct configuration.

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport mode trunk
